Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SOCSimulator, operated by SOCSimulator LLC. By using our service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using SOCSimulator, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use our service.

You must be at least 16 years old to use SOCSimulator. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Account Registration

To access SOCSimulator, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly update any changes to your information
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

We may apply a temporary account lock, suspension, ban, or termination as described in Section 11. A temporary lock is designed to preserve access only to the action needed to restore the account, such as changing or verifying an email address, resetting a password, enrolling multi-factor authentication, or contacting support.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Free Plan

SOCSimulator offers a free plan with limited features. Free accounts remain active indefinitely as long as they comply with these Terms.

Paid Subscriptions

  • Billing: Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Price Changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Price changes take effect at the next renewal.
  • Taxes: Prices exclude applicable taxes, which will be added at checkout.

Refund Policy

  • 30-Day Guarantee: New subscribers may request a full refund within 30 days of their first payment.
  • Renewals: No refunds for renewal payments. Cancel before your renewal date to avoid charges.
  • Refund Process: Contact support@socsimulator.com to request a refund.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings. Upon cancellation:

  • You retain access until the end of your current billing period
  • Your account reverts to the free plan
  • You keep your account on the free plan; to erase your data entirely, use account deletion (see our Privacy Policy).

EU/UK Consumers: Right of Withdrawal

Consumers in the EU and UK have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase. Because you request immediate access to the paid features when you subscribe, performance begins at once: if you withdraw within the 14-day period before the service has been fully performed, you are charged only for the proportionate value of the service you have used up to the moment you communicate your withdrawal. You lose the 14-day withdrawal right once the service has been fully performed. The 30-day money-back guarantee above still applies as an additional contractual benefit.

4. License and Access

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Access and use SOCSimulator for personal or internal business training purposes
  • Complete training scenarios and track your progress
  • Access features included in your subscription plan

This license does not include the right to:

  • Resell or commercialize any aspect of the service
  • Share account credentials with others
  • Use the service to train competing products

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account
  • Attempt to bypass subscription restrictions or access paid features without payment
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service
  • Use the service for any illegal purpose or to violate any laws
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Upload malicious code or content
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Use SOCSimulator, its content, or techniques learned on it to access, attack, or test any system you do not own or lack explicit written authorization to test.
  • Use the service to plan, develop, host, distribute, or launch real-world malware, exploits, or attacks.

SOCSimulator is a fully simulated, sandboxed training environment. All scenarios, adversaries, indicators, and “attacks” are fictional and self-contained; the platform does not connect to real external targets and must never be used as a launch point against real systems. Security skills learned here are for lawful, authorized, defensive and educational use only.

If you discover a security vulnerability in the platform itself, report it to support@socsimulator.com and do not exploit it.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination.

6. Intellectual Property

SOCSimulator and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by SOCSimulator LLC and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The SOCSimulator name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of SOCSimulator LLC. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

Training scenarios, alert templates, and educational content are proprietary and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used outside the platform.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to SOCSimulator (such as notes, comments, or custom configurations). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

8. Disclaimers

SOCSimulator is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • Results obtained from the service will be accurate or reliable
  • The service will meet your specific requirements
  • Any defects will be corrected

Training Disclaimer: SOCSimulator is an educational tool. Completing scenarios does not constitute professional certification. Real-world security operations require additional training, experience, and judgment.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SOCSimulator LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • Service interruption or computer damage
  • Cost of substitute services

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of SOCSimulator shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your non-excludable statutory consumer rights.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SOCSimulator LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any content you submit to the service

11. Account Locks, Suspension, Bans, and Termination

To protect users, the service, and third parties, we may temporarily lock or suspend an account, restrict particular features, require a security or verification step, ban an account, or terminate access when we reasonably believe that one or more of the following applies:

  • The account or its use violates these Terms, applicable law, or the rights or safety of another person
  • We detect suspected fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, compromised credentials, sanctions risk, or a threat to the service
  • Account information cannot be verified or must be corrected, including use of a known disposable email provider where a permanent address is required for account security
  • A payment is disputed, reversed, overdue, or reasonably suspected to be unauthorized
  • We are required to act by law or a competent authority

We will use a measure we consider proportionate to the circumstances. Where practical, the account screen or a notice will explain the general reason and any available remediation. We may act immediately and without advance notice where delay could create security, legal, fraud, abuse, or third-party harm, or where notice is prohibited by law. We do not have to disclose information that would compromise our security controls, another person's privacy, or an investigation.

A temporary lock does not terminate your account: you may complete the stated recovery action or contact support. You may request human review of an automated or manual restriction by emailing support@socsimulator.com. We may ask you to verify ownership before changing account access.

A restriction does not waive non-excludable consumer rights or privacy rights. You may still request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Billing and refunds remain governed by Section 3 and applicable law; contact support if a lock prevents you from using self-service billing controls.

Upon termination, your license to use the service ends and you must cease use. Data is retained or deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy and legal obligations. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain in effect.

You may terminate your account at any time using the account deletion feature or by contacting support.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of SOCSimulator shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

13. Eligibility, Export & Sanctions

You may not access or use the Service if you are located in, ordinarily resident in, or a national of any country or territory subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions or embargoes, or if you are identified on any U.S. government denied-party or sanctions list (including the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List).

You represent that you are not so located, resident, or listed, and you agree to comply with all applicable export-control and sanctions laws and regulations in your use of the Service. You may not use the Service for any purpose prohibited by those laws.

14. Severability and No Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.

No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of that right or provision, and no waiver of any term will be effective unless made in writing.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by:

  • Posting the updated Terms on this page
  • Updating the "Last updated" date
  • Sending an email notification for significant changes

Your continued use of SOCSimulator after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
