Why Do Security Professionals Join SOCSimulator?

Our team members come from blue-team backgrounds, SaaS engineering, security education, and startup product design. They join because SOCSimulator lets them combine their technical skills with a meaningful mission: making hands-on SOC training available to anyone, free forever. The product ships real SIEM, XDR, and Firewall interfaces that train analysts on production-grade alert triage.

How Does SOCSimulator Support Career Growth?

Every team member receives a $5,000 annual learning budget for courses, certifications, and conferences. We sponsor attendance to at least two security events per year. Engineers rotate across SIEM, XDR, and Firewall simulation modules, building deep domain expertise. The ownership-minded culture means you ship features end-to-end, from design review through production observability.

Yes. SOCSimulator is a remote-first company with team members across 15+ countries. We use async communication as our default and have no mandatory in-office days. You can work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection.
What is the hiring process like at SOCSimulator?
Our hiring process has five stages: application review (3-5 days), an introductory video call, a practical exercise relevant to the role, a team culture interview, and an offer. The entire process typically takes 2-3 weeks from application to offer.
Do I need cybersecurity experience to work at SOCSimulator?
Not necessarily. While some roles like Security Content Developer require domain expertise, many engineering, design, and marketing positions value strong fundamentals over security-specific experience. We provide learning budgets and mentorship to help you grow.
What benefits does SOCSimulator offer?
We offer competitive salaries with equity, fully remote work, 25+ days PTO, $5,000 annual learning budget, latest MacBook Pro, full health coverage (medical, dental, vision), $1,500 home office stipend, and conference attendance budget for 2+ events per year.
How does SOCSimulator approach work-life balance?
We are async-first, meaning minimal meetings and respect for deep work blocks. There are no expectations to be online outside your chosen working hours. We optimize for outcomes, not hours logged, and encourage generous use of PTO.
