Get up and running with SOC Simulator in just a few minutes.

Create Your Account

1. Visit socsimulator.com/register
2. Sign up with email or continue with Google/GitHub
3. Verify your email address
4. Complete the onboarding wizard

Complete Onboarding

The onboarding wizard helps us personalize your experience:

1. Experience Level - Are you a beginner, intermediate, or advanced analyst?
2. Learning Goals - What do you want to improve? (Triage speed, correlation, tool mastery)
3. Preferred Tools - Which tools do you use most? (SIEM, XDR, Firewall)
4. Time Commitment - How much time can you dedicate weekly?
5. Team Size - Are you training solo or with a team?

Navigate the Dashboard

After onboarding, you'll land on your Dashboard:

• Stats Cards - Your progress, alerts handled, and accuracy rate
• Tool Mastery - Progress bars for each security tool
• Quick Actions - Start a shift, browse rooms, or view leaderboard
• Activity Feed - Recent completions and achievements

Your First Alert

Option 1: Operations Mode (Recommended for Beginners)

1. Click Operations in the sidebar
2. Browse available rooms or use filters (difficulty, tool, category)
3. Select a room labeled "Beginner"
4. Read the scenario briefing
5. Complete tasks and capture flags
6. Review your performance

Option 2: Shift Mode (For Experienced Users)

1. Click Shift in the sidebar
2. Configure your shift:
   • Duration: 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, or custom
   • Difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard
   • Tools: SIEM, XDR, Firewall, or all
3. Click Start Shift
4. Triage incoming alerts under time pressure
5. Find the hidden attack buried in the noise
6. Submit your findings before time runs out
